About this Event

Beth is Birdlife Australia’s current Powerful Owl Project Officer. Beth holds a PhD in Conservation Biology and is particularly interested in community-level responses to disturbance. Beth has spent the last 20 years working with faunal communities and has an unquenchable love for wildlife. Whilst she always thought she would end up becoming David Attenborough, Beth finds educating people about wildlife and urban conservation almost as rewarding. We will talk about some of the trials this group of birds faces post-fire, impacts of remaining populations and where we should be aiming to help these birds stay with us in an environment where fire frequency is likely to increase.
