Toowoomba Regional Libraries in partnership with QSITE (Queensland Society for Information Technology Education) and Google CS4HS (Computer Science for High Schools) is offering a series of free workshops to assist primary and secondary teachers prepare for or enhance their implementation of the Digital Technologies Australian Curriculum in P-10.
Session 1: P-6 Wednesday 14 September 12.00pm - 6.00pm
Session 2: P-6 Wednesday 26 October 12.00pm - 6.00pm
Session 3: 7-10 Wednesday 9 November 12.00pm - 6.00pm
Location: Community Venues, Level 3, Toowoomba City Library Building, 155 Herries St, Toowoomba.
Sessions 1 and 2 are aimed at primary teachers, and session 3 at high school teachers, however all teachers are welcome to attend any or all of the sessions. The workshops will be facilitated by two experienced IT teachers from a high school background: Richard Kelly (HOD IT at Toowoomba SHS Mt Lofty) and Jeremy Schultz (senior teacher of IT at Stanthorpe SHS). Guest presenters and speakers will also do a show and tell. The workshops will focus on developing skills, resources and pedagogy to teach the concepts of Digital Technologies, including coding and robotics.
Lunch is included.
