Our popular digital skills sessions are back! Learn to use mobile technology to create and support engaging learning experiences for students in the early, middle, and senior years. Begin with iPad basics, see demonstrations of effective teaching and learning with iPad, and hear practical tips from Apple Distinguished Educators.

9 Oct - iPad basics
This workshop provides an overview of using iPads for teaching and learning. Discover the basic features and functions of the iPad, how to connect it to a classroom projector, and popular apps to get you started. Participants are encouraged to bring their own iPad, with a limited number available to borrow for the session.

16 Oct - iPad as a teaching tool
Learn how to use the iPad to enhance curriculum delivery in this hands-on workshop. Discover engaging apps to enrich student understanding and apps to increase day-to-day productivity with breakouts for teachers in the early, middle and senior years. This workshop is great for teachers with a number of shared iPads in their classroom. Participants are encouraged to bring their own iPad, with a limited number available to borrow for the session.

23 Oct - iPad as a learning tool
In this workshop we demonstrate how the iPad has potential to transform student learning. Through demonstrating a series of learning workflows in early, middle and senior years breakouts, we will explore the ways in which iPad encourages curiosity, fosters higher order thinking and provides opportunities for students to engage in purposeful and intellectually challenging projects. This workshop is great for teachers implementing an iPad 1-to-1 learning program in their classroom. Participants are encouraged to bring their own iPad, with a limited number available to borrow for the session.

30 Oct - iPad PechaKucha
In this PechaKucha-inspired session, Apple Distinguished Educators, teachers and students will share engaging, enlightening and thought-provoking stories and demonstrations of teaching and learning with technology. Get inspired to go to the ‘next level’ with your students and consider technology in the classroom in a completely new way. Participants are encouraged to bring their own iPad, with a limited number available to borrow for the session.

6 Nov - iPad programs
In this final workshop of the series, we explore tools and resources to support the implementation of an iPad 1-to-1 program and strategies to build student, teacher and community capabilities. Participants each develop their own ‘action plan’ for leading an iPad program in their school or workplace.

As iPad availability is limited, please ensure you bring your personal or school device.
