Description

Are you a beginner technology for learning (T4L) user? Or are you just looking to improve your digital literacy skills?

Macquarie University LEAP program is offering a unique, face-to-face professional learning workshop for high school teachers in Parkes, NSW.

About the workshop: The workshop is a full-day (5.5 hours) program focused on supporting teachers with integrating digital literacy skills into their teaching practice. There will be a follow-on online component (1.5 hours) to practise the skills learnt at the workshop.

What will it cover?

  • In-depth look at digital literacy requirements for 21st-century industry and higher education

  • Applying SAMR framework to connect digital literacy skills with theory and practice

  • Immersive skill-building activities using Google Suite

  • Practical ways to teach key elements of digital citizenship

  • Expanded personal learning networks to discover new online teaching resources

  • Funds to provide a relief teacher

Is this teacher PL workshop NESA-accredited?

Yes, you will get a total of 7 (5.5 face to face, 1.5 online) registered hours towards your professional development goal upon completion of both the components.

What should I bring to the event?

Please bring your laptop to participate in the workshop activities. Loan devices are available upon request. Please email us leaplinks@mq.edu.au so we know how many loan devices to bring.

What is the cost?

The workshop is FREE for NSW Dept of Education teachers. Limited funding is available for relief teachers.
