Janie Lambert, Crime Prevention Officer, Victoria Police Force

Description

Staying safe in the Digital Age is becoming increasingly important. As we become more reliant on the internet we must remain alert and aware of the potential threats that it may bring.

Leading Senior Constable Janie Lambert of the Victoria Police is here to talk to you about your Digital Footprint and crime prevention.

Janie has worked for the Victoria Police for 23 years, and has worked as a front line member for 12 years at various stations such as Sunbury, Keilor Downs, Broadmeadows, Coburg and the Transit Police.

She held the youth liaison portfolio role for 4 years during her time at the Coburg Police Station and worked at the Sexual Offences and Child Abuse Unit at the Broadmeadows Police Station for 1 year.

Since 2006 she has worked at the Melbourne West and Melbourne East Police Station as a Crime Prevention Officer covering the City of Melbourne and Yarra. Her main role now is to follow up with repeat victims, conduct security audits and to engage with various community groups and stakeholders to raise awareness about crime prevention and personal safety.
