Description

For GPs & Nurses

This education session will provide GPs & Nurses with an understanding of the prevalence of liver disease within the population and how to diagnose and manage the disease. The presenters will also discuss treatment options
for liver cancer and metastasis.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

  • Identify the prevalence of liver disease in the greater population and in Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander/ Culturally & Linguistically Diverse communities;

  • Identify clinical and biochemical signs of cirrhosis and how to manage common complications of cirrhosis;

  • Summarise the difference between primary liver cancers and liver metastasis;

  • Discuss the treatment options for liver cancer and metastasis;

  • Differentiate the benefits of diagnosis and treatment of liver lesions.
