Should you just count carbs?

You've already mastered carb counting, but what about the other nutrients in your food? Studies have indicated that high-fat/protein meals require more insulin than lower-fat/protein meals with identical carbohydrate content. Our Dietitian will explore this topic in more detail.

What's new or on its way

This is an incredibly exciting time in diabetes research. New technology is becoming available more rapidly than in the past. This session a Diabetes NSW & ACT team member will provide an overview of what has recently been released and what will be coming soon. After the update real people living with type 1 will share their experiences using new technology and answer any questions you may have.

Dealing with burnout

Whether you have been newly diagnosed or have been living with type 1 for a while, it is very likely that you have experienced stress or exhaustion at some point during your journey. This session will identify the symptoms and causes of diabetes burnout, and give you tips about how you can help improve your mental wellbeing while looking after yourself.
