Delivered by Diabetes Queensland, this interactive workshop provides up-to-date information to help support clients with diabetes management.

Course overview:

• Epidemiology and classification of diabetes

• Pathophysiology of diabetes

• Current detection strategies

• Nutrition and physical activity recommendations

• Glucose monitoring

• Glucose lowering medication

• Insulin management

• Hypoglycaemia/hyperglycaemia/diabetes emergencies

• Sick day plans

• Complications screening and prevention

• Emotional well-being/supporting self-management

• National Diabetes Services Scheme (NDSS)

This workshop is endorsed by ACN according to our Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Endorsed Course Standards. It has been allocated eight CPD hours according to the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia - Continuing Professional Development Standard.
