Almost half of all Australians will experience a mental disorder during their lifetime. Yet stigma still surrounds mental illness and discussing one’s mental health status. This session will present the profile of mental illnesses in Australia and the links between mental health and oral health. It will provide strategies for providing appropriate oral health care for people living with mental illness.
