Join the DHAA for a National CPD Event running simultaneously in every state to celebrate World Oral Health Day today.

About this Event

DHAA Ltd invites you to share in a National event in each state to commemorate World Oral Health Day and it happens to fall on SA's annual March supper date!

Join us for 1.5 hours of CPD.

Doors open and registration : 6pm

Drinks and Canapes served

Selection of hot and cold canapes, wine, beer and non-alcoholic drinks provided.

7pm-7.45pm Session 1

Speaker: Victoria Pantazis - Speech Pathologist

Title: Oral Motor & Speech Development and Disorders

Topics to be covered: • The role of the speech pathologist – who we are, what we do and the people we see • Oral motor development from birth into adulthood • Oral motor disorders, including dysphagia and tongue thrust swallow: – what they are and their impact on oral motor, speech and/or eating as well as dentition/oral hygiene. • Oral complications and dental related implications, including: Tethered oral tissues, Altered saliva – what happens when there’s not enough or too much and its impact on speech, eating and oral hygiene • The use of social stories for dental visits

Victoria obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Speech Pathology with Honours from Flinders University in 2010, having worked as a Speech Pathology assistant since 2003.She is a member of Speech Pathology Australia, and is also a member of the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association (ASHA), and the Australasian Society for Tongue and Lip Ties (ASTLiT). She is a member of Indigenous Allied Health Australia (IAHA). Victoria is an accredited diagnostician with Autism SA

Areas of Interest: Victoria has a special interest in working with children and adults with speech disorders and difficulties. She works with clients with tongue tie and/or lip ties, feeding difficulties, as well as tongue thrust swallow. Victoria also sees many adults with swallowing disorders, and neurologically based communication difficulties.

Dietary Requirements - We will attempt to accommodate all dietary requirements. Dietary requirements must be notified 7 days prior to the event.

Cancellation Policy - 10 days notice must be given in writing to chairsa@dhaa.info , if you cannot attend, to receive a refund. Reimbursements will not be made after this time. Registration can be transferred to another person of the same membership status.

Photography - The DHAA reserve the right to take photographs and videos for publicity, illustration, advertising, web content and reports on events and symposia. These images will not be shared directly with any other business without prior consent.
