Prof Karen Peres - Association between Gum Disease and Obesity. Her presentation will discuss: what is the link between obesity and gum diseases; obesity influences the immune response, causes chronic inflamation and this inflamation makes obese individuals more susceptible to periodontal disease; obesity and periodontal disease share common risk factors.
