Event description

Description

The Australia-China Business Council (WA) presents an education forum to discuss the development of Chinese language and cultural competency in schools and industry.

Whilst trade and enterprise have led Australia’s bilateral relations with China, education promotes mutual understanding and long lasting links. This year’s forum will focus on developing Chinese language and cultural competency in schools and industry.

Most people agree it is the "obvious and smart" thing to do for our State and our future generation, but why are the achievements to date quite poor? What are some positive moves business and industry can assist in bringing together our cultures to make the learning and teaching of Chinese vibrant, meaningful and ultimately commercially sound for both Australia and China?

His Excellency Mr Chen Yuming, the Chinese Ambassador to Australia, will provide the keynote address at this event. He will be supported by prominent business leaders and representatives of local education institutions as they share experiences and suggest practical outcomes on progressing Chinese language and cultural training in WA.
