About the course:

Are you interested in a creative career? Transform your passion for Graphic Design into a career of the future. UX Design has revolutionised design! User experience (abbreviated as UX) is the overall experience of a person using a product, such as a website or app, especially in terms of how easy or pleasing it is to use. UX Design has become increasingly recognised by employers and businesses around Australia as an important, strategic role in the delivery of successful digital products. Whether you are creating a mobile app, a website, or a smartwatch app, UX design has become the bread and butter of Digital Design. Join us at  AIT this December for a fun, hands-on workshop, and get a taste of how to create apps that users love.

By the end of the course you will understand:

Day 1:

  • What is UX design?

  • How to use wireframes and sitemaps to make an app

  • Make your own working Low-fidelity app prototype!

  • Basic design principles

  • Icon development

  • Typography for screen

  • Responsive design

Day 2:

  • Test and refine your app design

  • Make your own High Fidelity app prototype!

Outcomes of the workshop are:

  • The basic concepts behind UX Design

  • Your own app prototype!

Software you'll be using: Popapp, Photoshop

Prerequisites: Enthusiasm for making your own app, software or game prototype! Previous experience with website design or Photoshop a plus, however, it’s not compulsory!

Time: 9-4pm

What to bring: lunch

Course suitable for: Ages 12+, high school students or anyone wanting to upskill in UX and UI
