Description

This practical workshop is designed to provide health and community workers with the skills to develop simple, clear and easy to read resources for their consumers or community.

The workshop requires some before and after workshop activity to support learning.

Learning outcomes:

  • Understand health literacy and how to communicate more effectively with consumers
  • Review or develop your own resource (brochure, flier, form or pamphlet that you bring to the workshop)
  • Learn what makes documents easier to read, including message, language, target group, layout, graphics and readability
  • Explore the role of consumer reviewed resources and Australian Standards
  • Learn about resources and support available
