Designing and planting your home orchard

Winter is a great time to establish a home orchard, with many deciduous trees available cheaply as bare-rooted stock while they are dormant. In this workshop we’ll go through design tips for home orchards to make the most of a small space. You’ll learn how to select fruit trees and varieties plus preparation and early maintenance to give your orchard the best chance of success and grow a diverse, abundant orchard to supply your fruit bowl all year round.

Please note that this is an event for Melbourne gardeners only. As gardening is very context specific, we won’t be able to take questions relating to other areas. If you live outside Melbourne, please contact your council to find out what free sustainable gardening events are available locally.
