About this event

You are exclusively invited to the Inaugural Department of Anatomy and Physiology Research Symposium. Within less than a year of existence, the newly formed Department of Anatomy and Physiology has already developed an exciting and vibrant research culture, united by our integrated view of the value of understanding the structure and function of the body in health and disease. The symposium aims to solidify our interconnectedness and celebrate our recent research successes. We hope you can join us as we showcase our many talented researchers.

The 2021 symposium will be a one-day event and will feature oral sessions on Advances in technology and methodology, Biomedical discovery and Preclinical science translation, along with poster presentations and ample opportunities to interact formally and informally with your valued colleagues. It promises to become a premier research event and your participation is encouraged.

Registration for the symposium is free. The program starts at 9am and concludes at 4pm. Morning tea and lunch will be provided, subject to COVID-19 regulations.

The event is planned to be a face-to-face meeting and we encourage you to attend this format. However, we appreciate that some individuals may wish to attend remotely and acknowledge that the University of Melbourne mandates all persons on campus be double vaccinated against Sars-CoV2. As such, a Zoom format mode will be offered and you are asked to indicate your preferred attendance mode as part of the registration process.

If you are planning a poster presentation, please email an abstract (1 page maximum, can include a figure) as an attachment to song.yao@unimelb.edu.au by Friday 5th Nov 5:00pm, 2021.

For further information about this symposium, please email Professor Stuart Mazzone (stuart.mazzone@unimelb.edu.au), Director of Research – Department of Anatomy and Physiology.
