Dementia Education and Training for Carers

Dementia Education & Training for Carers is coordinated by Commonwealth Respite & Carelink Centre Metro North, and is held on a monthly basis.
Dementia Education and Training for Carers (DETC) supports people who are caring for their family member or friend with dementia. The group meet on a monthly basis and hear guest speakers talk about a range of different topics that aim to assist the carer in their role.

Darryl Pascoe is a Financial Information Service Officer from Centrelink, he will be talking about the aged care asset and income assessment process for determining both residential and home care services fees.

Iris Burtenshaw from The ILC Regional Assessment Service will be discussing Home and Community Care (HACC), including current and future direction for services.
Aged Care Assessment Team will also provide information about My Aged Care, assessments, support plans, consumer choices and changes to the community care packages.
