Event description

Description

The presentation is in four parts with time for reflection and discussion.
• The first part is an overview of dementia and its prevalence in the Australian community.
• The second section looks more closely at how dementia can impact on an individual particularly how it may impact our senses.
• The third section looks at getting a diagnosis, the risk factors and some strategies you can employ to minimise your chances of
developing dementia, and things you may be able to do to mitigate its impact.
• The final section looks at what you can do to help support someone with dementia and how to become a dementia Friend.
• Questions are encouraged from participants to ensure you gain a practical understanding of the lived experience of dementia.
