Dementia and Your Caring Role - Griffith - ACT

This program provides an understanding of dementia and how to care for someone living with dementia.

It includes strategies and resources for:

• communicating effectively
• meaningful activities
• understanding changes in behaviour
• making your home dementia-friendly
• the impact of caring for someone with dementia.

Suitable for: Family carers and family members of people living with dementia. This program is not suitable for professionals employed in the health or aged care sectors.

This program runs over 4 sessions:

• Thursday 29 January 2026 , from 10:00am to 12:00pm
• Thursday 5 February 2026 , from 10:00am to 12:00pm
• Thursday 12 February 2026 , from 10:00am to 12:00pm
• Thursday 19 February 2026 , from 10:00am to 12:00pm

Dementia Australia's facilitators have specialist dementia knowledge, skills and experience. This program is delivered interactively, you will be encouraged to share your experiences alongside other participants giving you an opportunity to develop new support networks.

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

Paid parking in Coles carpark. Free parking available on Captain Cook Cres (approx. 10 min walk from venue)

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

It is ideal if you can bring your ticket. However, if you have completed your registration we will have your details and forgetting your ticket won’t be a problem.
