Professor Chris Dubelaar

Chris DubelaarChris is a Professor of Marketing at Deakin University in the Faculty of Business and Law. Previously he been Head of Department of Marketing at Deakin and at Bond University and was previously with Monash University (9 years – where he was the Director of HDR programs in the Department of Marketing) and University of New South Wales (5 years – where he was the Honours Coordinator). Chris was also the founding member of the Discipline of Marketing at the University of Sydney. He was the area editor for Business Research Methods at the Journal of Business Research from 2007 to 2009.

Chris’s research focuses on consumption choices, mainly food consumption choices specifically. He is currently researching how eating socially changes the way we perceive and respond to portion sizes and the way in which food is presented. Chris has conducted three published meta analyses, two in the food area (2014 and 2016) and one in advertising (2003).

Dr Joshua Newton

Josh NewtonJosh Newton completed his PhD (Psychology) at Monash University in 2011 and is now employed as a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Marketing at Deakin University. His research interests include social marketing, particularly in the areas of health and sustainability, and consumer behaviour. He has published in a range of outlets, including the European Journal of Marketing, Tourism Management, Industrial Marketing Management, Journal of Advertising Research, Journal of Advertising, Journal of Marketing Management, Journal of Business Research, Marketing Letters, and International Marketing Review.
