Opening Keynote: Building APS data capability

COVID-19 has shown the significant role that data skills and expertise has played in informing the Government's response and ensuring positive outcomes for all Australians.

Such lessons, alongside the recent outcomes from the APS review have highlighted the need for the continued development of data and analytics transformation and capability across the APS.

A key enabler in supporting this aspect of the reform agenda is the development of a data professions model.

Establishing such a model will allow the APS to target development and build career pathways for key professions, create a common understanding of the skills and experience needed alongside the opportunity to gain such knowledge.

Join us to hear an update on how this important piece of work is progressing and how this will shape the future of working in the APS.

Panel Discussion: Data in a crisis

One of the many lessons the recent national crises of bushfires and COVID-19 have taught us, is the need for the APS to be future-focused, collaborative and agile to assist in solving urgent and complex challenges faced by Government.

These crises have further highlighted the continued need for timely, accurate and comprehensive data being leveraged to inform evidence-based responses by decision makers and in driving the public's trust in Government.

Join us in this panel discussion with some of the APS' thought leaders who played a key role in assisting the Government's response as they share what the crises have taught them about the importance of collaboration, being mobile, thinking as one APS and using data well.
