Description

Deinstitutionalisation – where are we now?

Deinstitutionalisation transformed the landscape for consumers and carers and revolutionised mental health service delivery. But have nation-wide deinstitutionalisation policies improved the lives of people with mental illness and their carers?

As part of Mental Health Week, the Mental Health Community Coalition of the ACT is hosting this event as an opportunity to network and hear the perspectives of three individuals with vast experience in the community sector:

  • Rob Ramjan, CEO, One Door Mental Health (formerly the Schizophrenia Fellowship of NSW)

  • Brenda Happell, Professor of Nursing and Executive Director of Synergy Nursing and Midwifery Research Centre

  • Barnie van Wyk, CEO, St Vincent de Paul Society – Canberra/Goulburn

The event is FREE, but it is necessary to register on this page.
