Event description

Description

Would you love to refresh your approach to journaling?

Does this sound familiar?

  • you've been journaling in the same way for years
  • you journal, but get stuck writing about the same old things
  • you journal from time to time but don't really have 'tools' to use for journalling
  • you love journaling but you suspect you could go deeper in your journaling if only you knew how

If these - or any other of the many reasons journaling becomes stale - are getting in your way this workshop is for you.

Many people find that journal writing is therapeutic, bringing insight, helping to release tension, as well as allowing in new perspectives enhancing problem-solving. Journal writing can serve as an outlet for bottled up emotions and thoughts, unresolved trauma, or for creative expression.

And... journal writing can feel repetitive, boring and like a chore. There’s a kind of stuckness that can come into the writing because we are writing in the same way each day.

Is this true for you? Would you like to enliven your journal writing by deepening your practice?

Taking your writing to a new level might be a simple as refreshing your writing tool kit.

In this workshop we will breathe life back into your journal writing using three tried and true deepening processes, which you can use as stand alone journaling tyools, or in sequence as we will in the workshop.

We will explore:

· Stepping Into - what do I really mean by…? In this process we will take you down deep into the real meanings behind the words that are your page. You might choose to focus on facts/events, emotional energy, metaphors, sensations, or spirituality. This process helps us connect with a deeper, richer set of connections, often revealing attitudes or issues that we weren't even consciously aware of when we began writing.

· Walking Alongside - what do they really mean by…? In this process we dialogue with crucial areas of our journal or life and let the topic respond as if the topic itself were a living person. In this process we are listening deeply and writing down what we hear, sense and feel from the perspective of the other. This process can give us perspective, fresh insights and a more intuitive/ creative view of topic.

· Where to now knowing all this...? In this process we will review and reflect on what you have written and explore any next steps that arise from your journey. This integration step brings the possibility for action, clarity and a sense of resolve.

Why not join us in this gentle and supportive workshop to go inwards and see what your wisest, kindest, most courageous self has to say about things. Sometimes the answer is within, we just need to tools to help us hear it.
