Deepening Scientific Literacy with Digital Sensors
Event Information
About this Event
The Academy of Future Skills have developed multiple inquiry units around the use of digital sensors to collect real-time data for conducting experiments. In this workshop, our experienced STEM staff will strengthen your pedagogical practice and content knowledge in the use of digital sensors to conduct scientific experiments that support STEM projects and investigations that link to the Australian Curriculum. This workshop will provide you with many ‘tried and tested’ experiments to use in the classroom to investigate chemical reactions and their rates, biological systems and physics - motion and heat transfer. We will provide you with units of work that you could use for developing your programs that will have relevance and real-life applications to increase student interest, engagement and scientific literacy.
* All equipment used in the workshop is available for public schools to borrow to use in your classroom.
Note: This PL is targeted toward high school/college and is suitable for upper primary.
