Event description

Description

Ufirst invite you to attend a social innovation workshop that is part of our engagement work to gather insights to identify innovative ways of working to promote, preserve and restore connections for communities that are at risk of disconnecting, or have become disconnected either from their workplace or wider community.

The event is designed to bring together the Newcastle community, thought leaders, local businesses and innovators to discuss the importance of connections and generate innovative ideas that will promote connections across the community.

As you will know, there are social, health and economic impacts that follow a person’s injury at work or on the road and these can have a ripple effect that is felt by families, community and the economy and can place a burden on welfare services.

We know this is a complex issue that requires whole of system solutions.

  • Together we will

    • For participants to understand the research and insights we have gathered to date
    • Identify what works and what doesn’t
    • Generate ideas and solutions that support injured workers to remain connected after an injury, at work, at home and in the community
    • Generate ideas and solutions that restore connections for those who are isolated in the community
