Event description

Description

What’s it all about?

Decoupage derives its name from the French word découper, which means to cut out. It is a craft that involves gluing decorative elements (typically paper) to an object and then covering them with several coats of varnish or lacquer.

What will we do?

In this workshop you will start by learning how to seal and paint an item in preparation for decoupage.

From here you will learn how to apply a design to concave or convex surfaces. You will also be taught how to prepare and apply designs off serviettes or similar delicate materials. Materials will be provided for you to create a decoupage design on a small ceramic pot.

Please bring a pair of fine curved bladed scissors and lunch.
