Event description

Description

One of the most common reasons people come to see us at Disability Law Queensland is to find out about what their legal rights are to make a decision on behalf of a family member with an intellectual impairment who is becoming an adult.

This workshop will help you to understand your options when it comes to making decisions for an adult who has impaired decision-making capacity, as well as giving you a clear idea of what solid plans you can set for a child who may need decision making assistance when they become an adult.

Amee will be answering some of the follwing frequently asked questions:

  • How do I continue to support financial management after my child turns 18?

  • How do I prove I have a right to support my loved one’s decision making?

  • How is the money managed from a compensation or insurance payout?

  • What options are available?

  • What are the pro’s and con’s of each option?

  • Can I nominate a backup?

  • What are my obligations in supporting decision making?

Book a consultation with us within 30 days of the workshop to receive a $60.00 discount.
