Event description
This Webclass provides an online interactive learning experience providing you with 2.5 hours of CPD.

About this event

Dealing with the death of an SMSF member not only requires the trustee(s) to comply with superannuation law requirements and consider tax obligations, but there’s generally also the emotional aspect that comes with the close relationship of SMSF trustees. Consequently, accountants, administrators and advisers play an important role in guiding their SMSF clients through this stressful period.

In this 90 minute Webclass we will consider:

  • The superannuation law requirements where a SMSF member dies, including the consequences for the SMSF trustee(s);
  • What income tax withholding and reporting obligations apply;
  • Whether there are any transfer balance account reporting requirements;
  • The administration requirements and obligations for the accountant/administrator an SMSF where a member dies.

A pre-web class reference guide and case studies will be provided at least 48 hours prior to the start of the web class for registrants to review and consider. Attendees will also receive a comprehensive learning guide after the event for future reference.

Spaces are strictly limited and to meet expected demands we will be running this Webclass live on two different dates which aim to better accommodate flexible working arrangements during the pandemic.
