Event description

Description

Get up close and personal with Dave Warner, the original suburban boy, playing a career-spanning set and in conversation with Around The Sound's Bob Gordon.

The Live At The Backlot Up Close And Personal series are incredibly special events that provide insights into artists you don't get anywhere else, with intimate performances and access that fans can only dream about.

Come early for some food and a drink in the bar, enjoy the luxury of the venue as you are enveloped in the life, times and music of Dave Warner, and stick around for the meet and greet afterwards.

Suburban Boy Dave Warner first made his name in music with the gold album Mug’s Game and was named by Bob Dylan as one of his favourite Australian musicians. In addition to recording ten albums, Dave is an award-winning novelist (Ned Kelly for Best Australian Crime Fiction, WA Premier’s Award for Literature) with nine published adult crime novels. He also writes children’s novels and non-fiction books. Dave has written stage musicals, and also screenplays for television and film. His TV credits include Packed to the Rafters, Never Tear Us Apart and McLeods Daughters. His feature films have starred Molly Ringwald, Kylie Minogue and Travis Fimmel. Dave’s new novel River of Salt, set in 1963 on the NSW north-coast introduces the genre of surf noire. Dave is currently recording a new album, working on feature film scripts and a book of the lyrics of many of the five hundred songs he has written.
