Darren Hanlon Family Christmas Livestream Show
Event Information
About this Event
Saturday 19th Dec
POMONA, QLD
The Majestic Theatre
7pm (QLD TIME!)
For the first time in 16 years Darren Hanlon is unable to do his national xmas tour of Australia. Due to the current situation Hanlon will play just four shows in his native Queensland. So in order to reach the people who'd normally be looking forward to these xmas shows as a tradition he'll be performing a live-stream concert at one of his favourite venues, The Majestic Theatre in Pomona, QLD.
This show will be beamed out to fans around the world in actual real time, not a pre-record. There will be opportunities to request songs and heckle from the comfort of your lounge rooms. If the time and date of the performance is not suitable there'll be an opportunity to stream the show for up to two weeks after the fact to watch at your convenience.
Individual tickets are $20, with a $30 option if you feel like chipping in for the whole family. Once tickets are purchased you'll be emailed instructions and an exclusive code which will give you access on the day.
The Majestic Theatre is situated in a small hamlet a short drive from the Hanlon family farm and is famous for being the oldest operational silent movie cinema in the world. Hanlon grew up watching films there, a tradition that has never stopped. Since being locked down this year he's seen 16 silent films... and counting!
The Majestic Theatre is also the recording location for Hanlon's 2006 album Fingertips and Mountaintops, so this 99-year-old structure holds much historical significance for Hanlon. "I'm so sad I can't get around Australia this year. So if this live stream thing is my only choice to reach you I can't think of a better place to sing from," he says.
