Darebin's first Changing Places Facility Launch

Description
Please join us to celebrate the opening of the first Changing Places Facility in Darebin on Changing Places Awareness day!
Changing Places toilets are different to standard accessible toilets with extra features including an adult-sized changing table, ceiling hoist system, and enough space for two people either side of a peninsula toilet, all in a safe and clean environment.
The event will be an opportunity to celebrate and acknowledge the advocacy of the Darebin Disability Advisory Committee in making Changing Places a reality in Darebin.
It will also be a chance to discuss access and inclusion opportunities in Darebin, and plan for the future!
The event will be graphically recorded and the High Street Bells Choir will perform!

Parking
There are six accessible (disability) parking bays located near Preston City Hall

Two bays are located in the Customer Service car park at 274 Gower Street.

Two bays are located on Gower Street outside the Preston Library.

Two bays are located on Kelvin Grove.
Public Transport
Preston City Hall is wheelchair accessible from the Gower Street entrance.
The Preston City Hall is located:

500m (7 minute walk) from the Preston Railway Station, which is serviced by the Mernda Line.

500m (7 minute walk) from stop 48 (Gower Street / Plenty Road) on the 86 tram route.

Near High Street serviced by bus routes 552 and 553.

Near Murray Road serviced by bus routes 527 and 903.
Seating
Chairs with backrests will be available on the day.
Recharge Point
A Recharge Point will be available to charge mobility scooters and electric wheelchairs.
Hearing Assistance
A portable hearing loop will be available on the day.
Auslan interpreters are available upon request.
Sensory space
There will be a sensory space located in the Preston City Hall.
Bathrooms
There is an accessible toilet located in the Preston City Hall.
There is a Changing Places facility located on Kelvin Grove.
