The Darebin Chess Tournament (Winter 2022) will run in compliance with Victorian Government and Darebin Council Covid-19 regulations.

Capacity limits no longer apply at the venue, however, we still have a special ticket category: "non-playing adult (parent)" in case regulations changes. This is an allocation of tickets for parents/adult carers of child competitors. We expect that all children 12 years old and below will be accompanied by one adult who must remain at the venue for the entire tournament. There is no limit to the number non-playing adults from each family who can attend.

If you wish to register a child (12 years old or below) to participate in the tournament, please also register yourself as either a tournament participant or as a non-playing adult.

If you register for this tournament but later become unwell or no longer wish to attend for any reason, please cancel your registration or send an email to us so that we can release the ticket to those on our waitlist.

As a courtesy to the other participants, please ensure that you are at the venue prior to the starting time of 1pm and available to stay for the duration of the tournament (ending approximately 4:30pm). All participants will participate in all seven rounds. (This is not a knock-out style tournament.) Time limits will apply for all games.

This will be a Covid-safe event. If you are feeling unwell, have been required to self-isolate or are awaiting Coronavirus test results, please do not attend. Hand sanitizer will be available on all tables. Face Masks are recommended.

By participating in the Darebin Chess Tournament, you consent that your photograph may be taken at this event by the organizer and used by Darebin Chess Club Inc. or the City of Darebin in promotional materials, including the publication of names of winners in each category.
