Dandy Lions is a delightful morning of gardening, craft, singing and play for young children and their carers.
Each week we explore a new garden-related theme, with specially designed activities for children under the age of five. Join Royal Botanic Garden Sydney education staff for:
Garden activities including planting and harvesting
Nature-based art and craft
Lively, interactive storytelling
Songs, music and dance
Garden discovery walks
Playtime and fun!
When: 10.30 am - 12.00 noon
Who: Children up to 5 years and their parents or carers. Younger children may need more assistance from carers with activities. Accompanying adults and babies with a paying sibling are welcome for free.
Where: Lawn next to Victoria Gate Lodge, Royal Botanic Garden, Sydney. Enter through Victoria Gate from Mrs Macquaries Road.
Public transport: Take bus route 441 from the Queen Victoria Building (the first bus of the morning leaves from QVB at 10.08 am and arrives at Dandy Lions at 10.15 am). The closest train station is Circular Quay and it has pram access.
Parking: Metered parking is available along Mrs Macquaries Road

Please note: Parents are expected to attend and participate in the session and are responsible for their children's whereabouts and safety. We do not go ahead if there are thunderstorms or high winds, or if the temperature is above 35 degrees Celsius. If the program is cancelled and you have booked a ticket you will be notified via email.

The Royal Botanic Garden Sydney
The Royal Botanic Garden is an oasis in the heart of Sydney. Established in 1816, it is the oldest scientific institution in the country and home to an outstanding collection of plants from Australia and overseas.
People visit the Garden for peace, relaxation, education and to learn more about plants and horticulture. Entry is free but some special events are ticketed.
