The Museums Discovery Centre has partnered with Dance Makers Collective to offer a dance workshop series, occurring over three consecutive Saturdays on 28 August, 4 September and 11 September 2021.

This Saturday morning workshop series is recommended for ages 5 – 8 years.

Participants are welcome to attend a single workshop, however they are encouraged to return on all three consecutive weeks if possible, to get the most out of the experience.

These dance workshops are suitable everyone, from complete beginner to seasoned dancer. Participants will get the chance to make new friends as they unite in this joyful group activity and learn how to use their body to express themselves through movement.

All sessions will be facilitated by experienced dancers and educators from Dance Makers Collective. The group, based in western Sydney, was formed in 2012 with a vision to transform people and communities through dance.

This workshop series is free, but bookings are essential as places are limited.

Participants should wear comfortable clothes and shoes and bring a water bottle. To help plan your visit, please find information here about the measures we’ve put in place in response to COVID-19 to keep everyone safe.

Dance Makers Collective will also be running a Saturday afternoon workshop series for older children, ages 9 – 12 years, over these same dates. For more information click here.

Parents and carers are welcome to explore the collection stores whilst the workshop is being held.
