A stellar cast of speakers delivering their presentation in the Ignite format. Each speaker has exactly 5 minutes with exactly 20 slides that auto advance every 15 seconds!

Kerrin Paterson – Excel Hell

Kerrin Paterson is enjoying a a long career in data management as both a consultant and permanent staffer, and is a certified data management practitioner. She is currently an Engagements Manager and Principle consultant at MIP and before that she was the Associate Director of Performance & Quality at the University of Western Sydney where she led the strategic business intelligence and advanced analytics initiatives.

Kerrin holds a Masters in Applied Statistics, a Bachelor of Science (Honours) and a Graduate Diploma in Local, Family and Applied History. The mother of two daughters, in her spare time Kerrin is happiest when travelling, taking photographs or whilst buried in old documents in the archives. She is in fact suffering jet lag having just returned from a month in Ireland and hopes to stay awake long enough to deliver this presentation.

Darryl Pollock - Data Quality in the new political landscape

Darryl is an IT professional with over 30 years IT experience currently working as Enterprise Architect for TransGrid, the NSW high voltage transmission company. Darryl's background is in Application Development, Database Systems and Solution Architecture with previous EA positions including GrainCorp and Baiada Poultry. With a background in professional theatre, Darryl brings a creative approach to Enterprise Architecture which he has used to promote IT innovation at TransGrid.


Varun Pant - If you want sense, you'll have to make it yourself

Varun is a strategy focused, business oriented professional crafting innovative solutions for solving real life business problems- have worked in seven countries around the world, starting his career as a Chemical Engineer, and now a TOGAF certified professional, helping the Govt departments craft customer centric solutions to problems.
Proven track record of delivering large scale complex IT and business transformation projects, cloud implementation, mobility initiatives using modern frameworks, proven methodologies, best practices, and patterns.


Kathryn Howard – The Pareto Puzzle

The Service Management Provocateur. 30 years in IT Service delivery – 15 in service management. Service management strategist & tactician for medium to large private & public sector organisations

Graham Witt - Modern myths that hold us in thrall

In Graham's many years of industry experience, he has developed specialist expertise in system specification, user interface design, data modelling, relational database design, data quality, and information management. As well as completing many successful projects for major clients in the transport, health, education, telecommunications, government and finance sectors, he has a reputation as an effective educator in these disciplines, has developed training courses in data modelling, database design and business rules, delivered them in Australia, the US and Canada, and presented papers at conferences in Australia, the US, the UK, France and Germany, as well as meetings of DAMA (the Data Management Association) and ACS (the Australian Computer Society).


Glen Bell - The Dismissal

Glen is the president of DAMA Sydney and has a morbid fascination with Australian politics. Glen holds a Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science and a Masters of Business - Information Technology. He is a Certified Data Management Professional and Certified Business Intelligence Professional (both a mastery level).
