CycleWise for novice riders (Knox)

Description
This 2 hour practical cycle skills training session is commissioned by the City of Knox.
This course is for adults wanting to improve riding skills and gain confidence on the bike. In a traffic free environment participants will learn basic but essential bike control skills including smooth starting, stopping, using gears, scanning, signalling and emergency stops.
There will be discussion on planning a riding route, and scenario practice on riding assertively and correct road positioning.
Maximum of 7 places. Cost $5 per participant to cover booking costs (non-refundable).

What do I need to bring?
- Your bicycle (must be roadworthy)
- Your helmet
- Runners or similar closed-toe footwear
- A brightly-coloured top or hi-vis vest
- Sun/weather protection
- Bottle of water
- A small snack (optional)

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
No. The instructor will have registration details of participants.
What if the weather is poor?
In the event of very hot (over 35 deg celcius), very wet or very windy weather the session may be postponed at the instructor’s discretion and you will be notified by phone at least 2 hours before the event.
