This 5 hour practical cycle skills training session is commissioned by the City of Knox.
This course is for adults wanting to improve riding skills (off and on-road) and gain confidence on the bike. The comprehensive training course covers bike set-up, safety checks, bike handling and traffic riding skills - and promotes safe and responsible bike riding.
The first part of the course will take place in a traffic free environment where participants will practice essential bike control skills. After lunch (included), there will be a group ride on local roads with and without marked bicycle lanes. Two instructors will lead the group to visit intersections and roundabouts, and will demonstrate how to cross tram tracks and do hook (two-part right) turns.
There will be a focus on planning routes, riding assertively and correct road positioning. Maximum of 7 places.
The fee per person is $10 (non-refundable) to help cover booking and catering costs.
