Culture Up Late opens the museum after hours with a few extras including VR experiences, short and sweet tours, hands-on workshops, live music and performances. Enjoy a mid-week diversion with a bit of a difference! It’s also the perfect opportunity to enjoy the latest exhibitions, during its quieter moments.

Ngalu Warrawi Marri means 'We stand strong' in Gadigal. This event, curated by First Nations staff, highlights and celebrates First Nations protest and resilience & interrogates the way Australia celebrates national identity.

Join a discussion space with Kaleesha Morris, Natalie Cromb, Clayton Simpson & Tom Avery aka Blakboi challenging national identity, colonisation and mainstream interpretations of history

• Live Poetry with Aunty Charmain Green & Evelyn Araluen
Listen to poetry by Yamaji woman Charmaine Green, who uses poetry as a form of therapy and protest, with a strong message to both Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians. Also performing is Bundjalung poet, activist and PhD candidate Evelyn Araluen, whose work has been published in Cordite, Southerly, Rabbit and Best Australian Poems.

• Decolonising Beats: Live DJing with Emily Nicol

Enjoy a decolonisation playlist curated by Koori Radio’s Emily Nicol

• Spot Tour: IndigiHack

Question everything on the IndigiHack tour, which invites you to examine colonial biases in Museum spaces in fun and interactive way.
