Cultural Storytelling Workshop with Yirra Yaakin and Barking Gecko Theatre
Overview
Local arts organisations Barking Gecko Arts and Yirra Yaakin Theatre Company are teaming up for these special cultural storytelling workshops specially designed for children aged 6-12 years old.
Many cultures have long-established traditions of storytelling and performing. Storytelling is a way of sharing ideas and language, whilst nurturing connections with people. Participants will watch and listen to storytelling from Yirra Yaakin Theatre and Barking Gecko Arts artists, then work together to create and share their own stories.
Please note that capacity at these workshops are extremely limited. Please only register if you know your children will definitely be attending.
Workshops will run for 2 hours with light refreshments provided. Workshops will be happening in the Children's Library on Thursday 22 January and Friday 23 January, please ensure your children are only registered for one of these sessions.
