Facilitated by the University of Sydney, National Centre for Cultural Competency this is a unique opportunity for leaders and staff to engage in the concept of Cultural Competency.

This one day workshop is designed to introduce you to the concept of cultural competence, and how it can be infused into your everyday life. The workshop will examine the building blocks of cultural competence, and has been designed as the starting point for your journey towards cultural competence. Situating the concept of wellbeing within a holistic Indigenous framework, the workshop aims to highlight and value different ways of knowing, being and doing.

You will:

• Learn about identity and why it is important to understand ourselves before trying to understand others

• Examine the complex interplay of components that comprise and influence individual identity, including psychology and culture

• Develop an understanding of, and skills for building your resilience in the context of your cultural competence journey

• Understand and build your leadership capabilities
