My Urban Retreat is bringing their goodness to Yogic State, Mortdale! Friday never felt so good as you make time for yourself to unwind and connect with others. You'll experience a morning of good vibes to recharge and leave the outside world behind.
What can I expect from this Wellness Retreat?
It's common for everyday life to become stressful. It may feel like you're carrying a heavy load constantly with the daily demands of family, work and life. A Wellness Retreat is an opportunity to take time out from everyday routine and responsibilities, in order to recharge our energy and give ourselves some TLC. Most Retreats require a full day or multiple days, which can be challenging to schedule in. Our Retreats are easily accessible to everyone, as they are only a couple of hours of your time, yet offer the same benefits as a longer retreat.
Your Retreat will begin with a morning yoga session, which will be gentle enough for beginners to start their journey. Our beautiful instructor will guide you through a basic flow, where you will learn the foundations of yoga. Step onto your mat and feel your stresses drift away; your mind be at ease, and tension in your body be released as you're guided through a series of soft, yet effective yoga movements.
Your flow will conclude with Yoga Nidra. This practice will take you to a deeply joyful and blissful state whilst you completely let go and relax your body and mind. You will leave your mat with a sense of inner peace, clarity and tranquility.
We will then have the opportunity to welcome Karen Argy, who will be talking about why we procrastinate and struggle through behaviour change, sharing tools to help overcome this common habit. She’ll talk about building holistic resilience and focused habits towards becoming the healthiest, happiest version of ourselves.
Karen is a health and wellness coach with a background in healthcare. Working as an integrative pharmacist, Karen explored numerous wellness modalities which lead her to health coaching as a way to help people achieve a higher sense of wellbeing and performance in life. She has a special interest in helping women cultivate a heathy mind and connect with their authentic self to meet the challenges of life with confidence and ease.
A delicious and nutritious vegetarian lunch will then be shared, as we connect with like hearted retreaters
Is this event right for me?
This retreat is best for those feeling the need to slow down and find some stillness in their mind and body. If you are feeling stressed, tired, anxious and overwhelmed, then taking out some time for yourself and connecting with like-minded community members can help. Whether you are new to retreats or an experienced participant, My Urban Retreat welcomes everyone. Participate as little or as much as you like - this is a judgement-free zone!
I've never done yoga before. Can I still come?
Absolutely! All levels are welcome.
Do I have to know other people or can I ride solo?
It's completely up to you! Of course, almost everything's better with friends. However, many people who attend retreats prefer to go solo, which gives them an opportunity to concentrate on their experience fully, as well as openly connect with like-minded individuals.
What do I need to bring?
Please bring your own yoga mat for your practice, a towel for the bolster and a bottle of water. If you do not have a yoga mat, please reach out and we will be happy to provide you with one.
What is the dress code?
Wear something comfy and warm, that will allow you to stretch out. Pants/tights are recommended. Note, yoga is practiced barefoot.

- 11:00 am Arrival, grab a mat/space and settle in for the day
- 11:15 am Slow Flow + Yoga Nidra - Learn the Foundations of Yoga
- 12:15 pm Cultivate a Healthy Mind - Karen Argy
- 12:45 pm Connect with fellow like-hearted retreat-goers over nutritious food and tea
- 1:30 pm Closing circle. Return to the outside world feeling refreshed, lighter and renewed- ready to bring out your inner joy and peace, each & every day!
Health & Safety Guidelines
My Urban Retreat adheres to social distancing rules. To ensure there is ample spacing between all attendees, tickets to this event will be limited.
COVID Refund Policy: Refunds are not available, however, if for any reason you are unable to make it, please feel free to pass on or donate your ticket to someone who may be able to use it and let us know. If we are required to cancel due to new COVID restrictions, a full refund will be provided.
