What’s it all about?

Reflection in Action is about exactly that – reflecting and taking action.  This workshop will support and inspire you to critically reflect in meaningful ways on the issues and questions that matter to you, your colleagues, your communities, and the children and families that you work with.

This workshop will take you through a simple and effective process of critical reflection using the ‘Reflection in Action’ resource, and will show participants practical ways to reflect individually, in teams, or with children.  

Learning outcomes

  • Build understanding of critical reflection
  • Gain practical experience in using a critically reflective process

Presenter Biography – Stacey De Calmer & Christine Payne 

Part of the Workforce Council team since 2007, Stacey has been involved in a variety of projects and programs focusing on the early childhood sector.  Stacey was part of the team that developed the Workforce Council’s latest resource ‘Reflection in Action’, and is most interested in using group processes that promote participation and the expansion of world views. Stacey’s work over the last few years has predominantly been supporting services looking improve their quality, and taking on a mentor role in leadership programs. 

 

Christine has been with the Workforce Council since 2007 where she has held various roles. Christine has worked with groups across various community sectors including youth mental health, domestic violence and family support supporting them to work together to collect data, priortise needs and develop workforce plans to build the capacity of the health and community services sectors throughout Qld. More recently Christine's work has focussed on developing a suite of learning and development offerings including mentoring programs, large conferences, workshops and peer learning experiences. Christine particularly enjoys working with organisations to develop learning plans that support them to achieve their goals over the longer term. 

Christine has a Diploma of Business Management, Event Management and Human Resources and a Certificate in IV in Training and Assessment.
