Crisis Intervention & De-Escalation Training – Free Intro Session
Overview
Crisis Intervention & De-Escalation Training – Free Intro Session
Supporting people in distress is part of the job for so many teams across the Territory, yet most staff are never properly trained in how to respond when tensions rise.
This FREE, one-day training gives your organisation a chance to experience our Crisis Intervention & De-Escalation (CID) training in a safe, practical and very down-to-earth format.
This isn’t theory-heavy. It’s not clinical. And it’s definitely not boring.
It’s real-world, NT-based, and designed for people who deal with unpredictable behaviour - from front-line community workers to managers trying to steady a heated conversation.
Limit of 2 people per organisation, so we can keep the room interactive and give everyone space to work through scenarios properly.
Our aim?
To help you see whether our full CID training is the right fit for your team… and to give your staff a little more confidence heading back into their work tomorrow.
What We'll Cover
You will explore:
- How to quickly recognise where someone is on the escalation curve
- Practical ways to steady a situation before it boils over
- Communication techniques that lower the intensity rather than fuel it
- How to stay grounded when someone else is losing theirs
- Simple tools for safer boundaries and clearer expectations
- The difference between crisis behaviour, distress behaviour, and refusal
Everything is taught using simple language, Territory examples, and real scenarios from community, disability support, education, youth work, mental health and customer-facing settings.
