CREDITON STATE FOREST EXPLORATION HIKE

LET'S GET HIKING!

Crediton State Forrest Exploration Hike – Broken River (Eungella) to Crediton return, 10km– Saturday 21st September 1.00 – 4.30pm

The Mackay region is blessed with an abundance of natural beauty from sub-tropical rainforest trails to beach tracks - we are not short on trails to be walked and good times to be had. So let's do exactly that and get hiking!

This fun guided hike is offered by 21Degrees South who are class themselves as beginners or who have enjoyed some hiking in the past. This particular hike, while long spanning 10km is not difficult terrain.

We will begin the walk from Broken River Walking Trail. While this walk is a longer one, it’s perfect for beginners or those of you who are used to hiking. It’s a favourite walk of ours as it meanders along Broken River and shows off stunning sub-tropical rainforest as well as red cedar and tulip oaks. You’ll take in a small flowing waterfalls along the walk, a 20 minute rest half way to enjoy snacks and a chat with your fellow hikers. Cameras are a must – get ready to share your experience and our beautiful region with friends and family, this walk is sure to inspire all!

Hikes offered by 21Degress South are all about connecting with others, sharing experiences, developing new friendships and enjoying some physical activity while enjoying our surrounds.

Dates/Time and Locations:

Saturday, 21st September meet at 1pm - meeting point details will be released closer to the event date

Allow 1 hour for travel to Eungella

Allow 3-4 hours for hiking

Fitness level: Beginner

What to Bring: Hat, towel, water bottle, sunscreen, insect repellent, back pack suitable for hiking, camera . Light refreshments.

What to wear: Good sturdy walking shoes that are suitable for hiking, comfy clothing suitable for hiking

Your instructor: Nikki Giles is a highly experienced and accredited coach and Adventure Racer who competes in extreme endurance triathlons and also competes in the male dominated adventure races- which are multi-sport, multi-day, self-navigated and self-supported in teams of 4. She is passionate about supporting others in their fitness journey and founded Tri-ActiV8 to help others achieve their goals. Nikki has a passion for the great outdoors and is looking forward to sharing her hiking experience with you!

Who is 21 Degrees South?

Is a newly formed Multi-sport Association focused on creating opportunity and experiences to explore and savour the wonderful outdoor lifestyle our region provides.

We hope to see more people in our region be active, connect with others and enjoy life in the Mackay region.

Q&As:

Q - What if it’s raining? Please keep an eye on the event Facebook page to be keep up to date on the weather events. Participants will also be notified by email if an event needs to be cancelled. Where possible we will attempt to make up any sessions cancelled due to weather.

Q - What ages? The hikes are perfect for 10 years and above and all kids under 18 will need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Q - Do I need to be fit? Participants should be of general good health. If you have any concerns about your health or fitness level, please see a medial practitioner before joining the program. Participants will be asked to sign a waiver before taking part in the events. # A copy of the waiver is available for viewing prior to the event on the Approach Adventure website (choose this event).

Q - What if I need to cancel? Unfortunately due to the timeframe of the program, we are unable to offer an alternative if you are unable to attend one of the sessions. Tickets for the programs are non-refundable.
