Creature Comfort - Exploring Connection
Event Information
About this Event
For millennia we have connected with the animal world, from co-existing in the wild to domestication. From awe, curiosity and study to healing, comfort and wellbeing.
What does this sacred connection actually look like? Feel like?
Individually and collectively.
What does it mean for you?
As part of our new exhibition Creature Comfort join Bec Knaggs in The Dax Centre studio for a relaxed afternoon of art making, self-care and connection.
This experiential workshop is an opportunity to develop & explore our connection with the animal realm, using art making, healthy self-expression and self-reflection as a tool for ongoing personal mental health and well-being.
Bec Knaggs is a qualified and experienced artist, expressive arts facilitator and art educator. She has been weaving these three disciplines together in diverse community and cultural development and learning environments for more that 20 years. She is currently an education officer at The Dax Centre.
Grounded in a belief that we are all innately creative, no prior art making experience is necessary.
All materials will be provided however we ask that you please bring along an object that represents your connection to/with a particular animal.
This may be your current pet, a special pet from your childhood or a creature in the wild whose spirit and being resonates with you.
Otherwise, all you need to bring is yourself, some comfy clothes you can get messy in and your curiosity!
We look forward to seeing you in the studio!
