Come along on Thursday of Week One for a massive LitSoc night of writing and chatting to kick off 2021!! Perfect for any students looking to commence, continue or develop their creative writing endeavours while studying at ANU. Hear from our guest speakers about how to write, edit or publish your work, then stick around for some writing activities with LitSoc, and drinks at the pub!
Here is the lineup:
6.00pm - Rachel Chopping, editor in chief of student media organisation Woroni
6.20pm - Dr Lucy Neave, senior lecturer in creative writing at the ANU School of Literature, Languages and Linguistics
6.40pm - Khushi and Gaby of LitSoc's student literary journal Rabbit Hole
7.00pm - creative writing workshop activities, run by LitSoc volunteers
7.30pm - LitSoc's annual general meeting
7.45pm - drinks and snacks at the pub!

Dr Lucy Neave is the author of Who We Were, a novel (Text Publishing, Melbourne, 2013), which was shortlisted for the ACT Book of the Year and named one of the '50 Best Books by Women' by Readings Bookstore. She is the winner of a Griffith Review Novella Prize in 2018, has been funded by the Australia Council for the Arts, and is a former Fulbright scholar. Besides writing fiction, she researches in the area of writers' practices, revision, and the representation of animals in contemporary literature.
