Creative Revolutionaries Presents:

"Inspirational Interfaces in Music & Tech"
Featuring Craig Swann (Looplabs), Matthew Wilson (Novus-Res)

Proving once again that some of the finest creative minds call Adelaide home, this event features the secrets of success of two entrepreneurs, Craig Swann and Matthew Wilson, whose different paths will intersect in unexpected ways.

Our "fireside chat" reveals the inspiration behind Craig Swann's creation of Looplabs, the world's first online music making experience and the web's first drag'n'drop interface, so groundbreaking that it featured in one of Steve Job's Apple keynotes.

We also chart the rapid rise of Novus Res, an award-winning and internationally acclaimed VR / 360 film company directed by brothers Matthew and Luke Wilson, experts in a multitude of virtual reality applications, including the high growth sector of game development.

Between them, their technical interfaces offer exciting frontiers and potential income streams for musicians and composers, who will witness firsthand the power of "music meets technology".

Can it really be that elegantly simple to create a hot music loop and integrate it directly into a game? Watch and see in a live demonstration.

Join us for the chat, demonstrations, networking, and even some hands-on opportunities to roadtest these exciting - and fun - applications of music.

There will also be a special announcement for musicians seeking new opportunities to connect with the Adelaide games industry.

Please note this event is on Level 1 of St Paul's Creative Centre. Contact Elizabeth Reid with any questions regarding access or location:

Craig Swann
Craig’s passion for the last 20+ years has been using technology to connect people and music through innovative, intimate and interactive experiences.Craig founded the award-winning agency CRASH!MEDIA in the mid-90's helping shape the internet experience through innovations including the web's first drag'n'drop interface and first online music making experience, Looplabs. His interactive work has received international acclaim from SxSW, the Webby's and used by Steve Jobs who demo'd it at an Apple Keynote. As an industry thought leader in the interactive space, Craig has authored books, spoken internationally and curated International technology events including co-launching FITC - Canada's largest design and technology conference. He's helped Fortune 500 companies develop and deploy national and international marketing campaigns while building digital products, interactive experiences and digital platforms that have engaged tens of millions. He believes in prototyping the future - that making is breaking - and that if it's not fun, exciting or affecting lives it's not worth doing.

Matthew Wilson
Novus Res is an independent virtual reality development studio whose focus is the creation of their own VR titles for the global market. With innovation at the core of everything they do, brothers Matthew and Luke Wilson revel in developing novel and fun ideas for virtual reality game play, and in bringing these games to the growing VR market. "Gaming is a fun and creative past time and we bring these elements to our development process ensuring that we create games which people want to play." This approach has not only resulted in successful game releases but also resulted in Novus Res being recognised for multiple business awards for innovation. Highlights of their vast range of creations include a bespoke VR cricket experience for Adelaide Oval in which users experience batting at this historic oval, two original interactive driving experiences housed at the National Motor Museum (Bush Mechanics, Adelaide Grand Prix circuit), the wildly popular Smash Bash Crash multiplayer game of 'mayhem', Freelands at the Adelaide Fringe Festival's Digital Playground, the stunningly detailed 360 degree VR "Kokoda" experience developed with ABC, and the soon to be released 26 Rob Plays VR Party Games, which wowed the GDC in March and has international buyers queuing up to distribute.
