Event description

Description

We have engaged Annie Talvé from Project Sisu, a specialist in the ways in which cultural entities and creative practices can enrich and deepen human lives, and invigorate connected communities. Anne and her colleague from Project Sisu Dr Sally Gray will deliver a 1-day session on the Creative Library. Places are limited so please book early.

This training is being offered as part of the State Library Victoria and Public Libraries Victoria Network Statewide Public Library Development Projects. The LEARN and LEAD workgroup is excited about the potential of the training as Victorian public libraries 2030 identifies the ‘Creative Library’ as a likely future direction for public libraries and the Creative Communities report identifies the cultural benefits of Victoria’s public libraries, including our role in nurturing creativity. This training will help deepen staff understanding of the growing role of public libraries as cultural entities, and highlight the societal trends driving this growth. It will build the ease and confidence of public library staff in articulating the contribution of public libraries to supporting creativity and innovation.
