Event description

Description

Lord David Puttnam is one of Britain and global cinema's foremost producers and experts on producing. Recently he was brought in by Pixar as a consultant on their creative culture and processes. Meanwhile, Ed Catmull, president of Pixar, has written a book entitled 'Creativity Inc.: Overcoming the Unseen Forces that stand in the way of true inspiration', that explores the history and culture of Pixar, a company that has been a greatly admired 'hit factory' for commercial animation. At the heart of the corporate culture Catmull describes is a Brainstrust where frank and fearless critique of Works-in-Progress is a standard operating procedure. In this presentation, Lord Puttnam will discuss his own experience of engaging in constructive creative critique and how it may apply, not only to filmmaking, but also to other business models.
