Description

This is a hands on session and access to a laptop is essential. Please bring either a Mac or PC device with you.

In our current digital landscape, video is one of the most popular and effective ways to consume media. Whilst constantly seeking to expand online presence and to challenge traditional methods of distributing content to students, RMIT aims to enhance online teaching and learning by finding innovative ways to utilise multimedia.

Throughout this session, we will explore the most effective ways staff can utilise video and techniques to create quality user generated content through DIY video production, for use via Canvas.


The session covers:

• Techniques to establish an ideal working environment to capture video, with an emphasis on lighting, framing and audio

• Navigating and utilising software to record video straight to your Mac & PC device

• Using powerful editing software to enhance your self recorded footage to create quality video content

• Uploading edited video content for effective use on Canvas


After this step by step tutorial you will:

• Gain/ strengthen your essential video production knowledge

• Gain capability to produce quality self recorded video content

• Navigate through appropriate video recording and editing software

• Optimise your Canvas and teaching online space


What you need to bring for this session:

Please bring along your laptop for this session.

Also ensure Quicktime (Pre-installed on all macbook laptops by defult) is accessible.
